Singing Bowl pad to use under larger bowls when playing bowl on a hard surface such as wooden or tile floor or on a shelf or table.  The bowl pad raises the bottom of the bowl up off the hard surface to eliminate interference of the hard surface with  sound vibrations.  Rest your bowl on the pad and activate the sides of the bowl with a mallet.  Bowl does not have to be the same size as the pad.  As long as the center of the bowl is raised off the hard surface and does not slip off the pad, it is the right size.
